Seed Grants for Interdisciplinary Projects with STEM Women as PIs
A small grants program to support research that successfully combines an interdisciplinary problem area with contributions to the University’s goals under the ADVANCE program. This program will require that at least one PI on the project be a woman from a STEM field.
Department-Centered Inquiry into Diversity Issues
This is a small grants program designed to foster an awareness of the ways in which unconscious bias and equity at the departmental level may influence the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty.
We will award small grants on a competitive basis to faculty in support of department-centered inquiry. Faculty awardees will receive an ADVANCE fellowship for the term of the grant. This program challenges faculty members to discover for themselves the parameters of climate, fairness, and unconscious bias by means and avenues appropriate to their own discipline. Coalition grant proposals that bring together related units, perhaps cross-college, to jointly research a topic of mutual interest and potentially seed additional opportunities that serve the purpose of the ADVANCE grant are strongly encouraged.
